Closing this year’s Jagongan Wagen performance platform, Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja (PSBK) proudly presents new work by Hujan Hijau Dance-Lab, , entitled “Human?”, choreographer Kiki Rahmatika. Hujan Hijau Dance-Lab is an interdisciplinary and intercultural dance community that focuses on researching culture of the archipelago. Founded by Kiki Rahmatika on May 7, 2015, in Lampung, this community has participated in several international conferences such as International Conference Asia Pacific of Art Studies (ICAPAS), International Conference Performing Arts (ICPA), International Conference on New Findings On – Humanity and Social Sciences (Belgium,  Netherlands and France). For two years, Kiki Rahmatika serves this community as choreographer, researcher, writer, and artistic director, and facilitates workshops. Her art works has been presented in Asia Tri Festival, Jogja Street Performance and Art Jogja. This piece explores the phenomena of slander and character assassination occurring in the educational field recently. Even though education provides a vast space to learn to become ‘human beings’,  it’s often the educators who are deviant and deliberately use their abilities to do actions that actually do not elevate human dignity.

“Human?” attempts to reveal the research findings of Hujan Hijau Dance-Lab regarding the practice of education in different regions, such as in Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan. Thus providing a space to re-interpret  the field of education as a valuable practice for human growth,  rather than knowledge that can be ‘bought’.
